Vimala Karukonda was born in India and moved to United States over 20 years ago. Ever since, she pursued her educational goals and completed her Masters of Arts degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana and an executive Masters in business administration from Graziadio school of business management at Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. She has over 15 years of experience at an executive level in building sustainable institutions in hospitality industry, manufacturing industry and healthcare industry. Among many things, she brings with her a strong track record in strategic planning, organizational alignment, marketing, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, product development, healthcare business management and most importantly client satisfaction.

She is a member of beta gamma sigma that was awarded based on her academic and professional achievement. She joined Dermatology Group of Southern California, Inc. in 2008 as a Chief Operating Officer and soon assumed the Chief Executive Officer position. She believes that good culture and strong values combined with a clear vision of the company are the major source of continuity, coherence, renewal, and ultimately sustainability in an age of economic volatility. As an institution builder and executive, she encourages companies to find their vision, common purpose and strong set of values that will lay the foundation for long term decisions and hold them together even in the middle of economic turbulence. Ever since she joined the Dermatology Group, among many things, the company made huge strides in the development of the culture, leadership, future planning, technology implementation, conversion of electronic medical records, employee education, training in an environment that promotes and thrives on learning, and most importantly patient care.

She is married to a dermatologist and has two beautiful boys. She enjoys tennis, table tennis, dancing, music, gardening, movies, comedy shows, books, and spending time with family and friends.
